About Us

Following a community festival in 1979, a group of citizens who wanted to preserve the farming history of communities in Baldwin County founded BCHM. After opening to the public, we have continued to gain exciting items from local donations.

Non-Profit Organization

Baldwin County Heritage Museum got non-profit status after locals donated the land. Then, we raised funds, collected items, gathered research, and opened our doors on October 31, 1987. The museum still operates as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with our workforce of volunteers.

Private Tours

When you have a small group or class of students learning about local farming history, you should schedule a private tour. Our volunteer tour guides can provide a detailed history, answer questions, and guide you through our historic buildings.

Features & Accommodations

After enjoying a day of education and history, you can enjoy our beautiful outside picnic space. We also have a collection of historic buildings around Baldwin County that make beautiful venues for weddings and other celebrations.
